Using the Lean Six Sigma DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyse, Improve, Control) framework, through our LSS Green Belt programme, participants are provided with tools and techniques to enable them to execute improvement projects, either as Project Lead on ‘smaller’ projects or as a part of a larger project team – maybe one led by a trained Black Belt.
This course will easily pay for itself; if only half of the participants use the knowledge to save an extremely conservative £5000 in the year, the programme will deliver a return on investment of over 300% (based on cost to train 10ppl of £6,000, returning a total £25,000 savings).

Certification
Certification of a Lean Six Sigma practitioner by a leading quality lead body adds to the credibility of what individuals and the company have achieved. Participants who complete the LSS Green Belt training programme with us and go on to deliver a project are eligible for certification as a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt from a nationally recognised foundation. The process for this is described below:
A presentation of approximately 30 – 60 min of the project approach and outcomes is delivered to a Prodelex assessor on a minimum of one LSS project. The project should have been sponsored by a member of the senior management team and address a problem that is important to the organisation. This presentation can be carried out remotely, provided the assessor can have a visual presentation of project content and approach, or in-person. The candidate should be prepared for an oral questioning session (viva) lasting approximately 30 minutes.
If the candidate reaches the required standard laid down by the foundation, they are awarded Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt status and their name is inducted into the foundation’s roll of Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belts.
A successful submission will comprise a well defined problem, appropriate use of root cause analysis techniques, logical approach to generating, planning and delivering a solution, and demonstrated elimination or reduction of the problem being addressed. In addition, the candidate will have to demonstrate, either through the project presentation or by answering questions during the assessment, knowledge of tools and techniques in areas including change management, fundamental project management, DMAIC project tools, basic data analysis and Lean concepts. All of this is provided during the training course.
The Course
Over 5 days, split into 2- and 3-day sessions, we will cover the 5 stages of a Lean Six Sigma project – Define, Measure, Analyse, Improve and Control or ‘DMAIC’ – delving into the objectives and techniques in each.
The overarching theme of this training is that of the practical application of the tools. We will discuss the strengths and weaknesses of various tools and techniques so that you can begin to develop your knowledge into how to deliver improvements in the context of your organisation.
The course has been accredited by a nationally recognised foundation and the final session will conclude with an exam. This will take 1½ hours, is of open-book format (you may refer to any notes or other material whilst taking the exam), and forms part of the process necessary to achieve the Green Belt certification.
A participant handbook will be provided electronically before the final day of the course and may be referred to during the exam. The handbook will complement the training course and contains relevant material accompanied, where appropriate, by summary notes that will have been explained in more detail, and in context, by the trainer during the sessions.
Requirements
Suitable candidates will be familiar with the core processes and products/services that your organisation produces/executes. They will be positioned within the company such that they can affect thinking and implement improvements to these products, processes/services that can deliver sustained benefits.
A misconception is that this approach is only relevant to manufacturing organisations. Over the years our trainers have delivered this programme to individuals from a wide range of industry sectors including infrastructure, health and social services, market research, police, logistics and transport.
Although certification cannot be guaranteed, our pass rate for those candidates choosing to become certified is in excess of 85% with the vast majority achieving success first time. Therefore, with the right attitude, successful certification can reasonably be expected.
Typically we expect participants to achieve certified status within 6-9 months from receiving the training.
