Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certification

Improve company efficiency and performance by upskilling your teams with a Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certification

Why You Should Choose This Course

Almost inevitably there are recurring irritating problems within your daily activities that are generating frustration within the workforce and creating knock-on issues in your cost, quality and delivery performance.

It is logical that addressing the repeating issues that ‘bug’ your teams is crucial in maintaining a productive organisation and it is unsustainable to expect only leaders and managers to solve all the issues. It is therefore valuable to provide individuals and teams with the tools required to efficiently and effectively drive improvements and ‘fix the things that bug them’.

The aim here is to roll-out a cost-effective solution that can be rapidly adopted by teams and, to complement this, receive formal external recognition for process excellence that can bring you competitive advantage.

This training and certification programme will easily pay for itself within 12 months. If each participant uses the knowledge to save only £500 in the year, the programme will deliver a return on investment of over 230% (based on cost to train 10ppl of £1500, returning a total £5000 savings).

We Have Exceptionally High Trainee Satisfaction

Every person who has undertaken LSS Yellow Belt training with us has been asked to provide feedback. Over the years we have averaged 98.2% satisfaction and a world-class Net Promoter Score of 100!

Certification

Certification of a Lean Six Sigma practitioner by a leading quality lead body adds to the credibility of what individuals and the company have achieved. Participants who complete the LSS Yellow Belt training programme with us and go on to deliver a project are eligible for certification as a Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt from a nationally recognised foundation.

There is no exam required as part of the Yellow Belt certification. The certification process for each candidate is as follows:

Complete the 1 day LSS YB training course
Deliver an improvement project
Record the improvement project on a storyboard
Submit the storyboard to a Prodelex Assessor
Prodelex Assessor reviews the project against criteria
A successful submission will comprise a well defined problem, appropriate use of root cause analysis techniques, logical approach to generating, planning and delivering a solution, and demonstrated elimination or reduction of the problem being addressed.

The Course

Also referred to as Simple Problem Solving (we call that “SiPS”), our one-day LSS Yellow Belt training programme provides practical knowledge, examples, and real-case application of problem-solving techniques for participants to use in their daily work to drive continuous improvement.

Built upon fundamentally-sound problem solving methodology, the structure of the Yellow Belt training guides participants through the 5 key stages in effective business problem solving to produce a thought-out, action-planned solution that tackles the root cause of the problem. The 5 stages are:

  1. Define the Problem
  2. Understand the Cause
  3. Generate Solutions
  4. Plan and Implement Solutions
  5. Verify the Effect.

Participants are provided with all the necessary training material in electronic format. This includes an A3 problem-solver template and an aide-memoir for future, quick access, reference.

Our Yellow Belt programme will take participants through partially-solving a contextually-relevant (to the business) problem to illustrate the key concepts being discussed. The target problem will be selected with input from the participants at the beginning of the course.

Requirements

LSS Yellow Belt is considered the entry level into structured problem solving and there is no prerequisite knowledge necessary to achieve success. All we ask is that participants approach the subject with an open mind and a willingness to make things better.

A misconception is that this approach is only relevant to manufacturing organisations. Over the years our trainers have delivered this programme to individuals from a wide range of industry sectors including infrastructure, health and social services, market research, police, logistics and transport.

Although certification cannot be guaranteed, our pass rate for those candidates choosing to become certified is in excess of 99% with the vast majority achieving success first time. Therefore, with the right attitude, successful certification can reasonably be expected.

Typically we expect participants to achieve certified status within 3 months from receiving the training.
